Student Travel Grant for EWDA 2024 conference in Stralsund, Germany
NEWS from March, 13th, 2024
The Student Chapter is excited to announce six additional travel grants (€750 each) for students attending the EWDA conference in Stralsund. These grants have been made possible through a generous donation from CEVA Wildlife Research Fund in support of the Student Chapter of the EWDA.
Students wishing to apply should follow the same application procedure as before, as described in the text below and send their application form and letter of support to ewdastudent@~@gmail.com. The application guidelines remain consistent with those set previously, with a submission deadline of April 5th, 2024.
The Student Chapter of the EWDA, in partnership with the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, Germany, is pleased to announce that a number of Student Travel Grants are made available for the 15th European Wildlife Disease Conference. The funds aim to offer six travel scholarships (€750 each) to individual students1 interested in the field of wildlife research to attend the biennial EWDA conference in Stralsund. Preference will be given to EWDA student members.
Students living in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany or in areas in close proximity2 to the conference location are NOT eligible to apply for this travel grant, as the funds are specifically designated for mitigating travel and accommodation expenses. The committee responsible for reviewing the applications will allocate funds based on the applicants demonstrated interest and active participation in EWDA, as well as their financial need and proximity to Stralsund. Award recipients will receive disbursements after the annual conference, upon confirmation of their registration and attendance as student members.
Students granted a travel scholarship for the conference will be required to share their experience through a presentation at their home university (through EWDA Student Chapter network or similar student group) in the semester following the conference. Additionally, they are expected to write a brief text for the EWDA newsletter. Please note that students who have previously received an EWDA travel grant are not eligible for this year’s travel award. The deadline for the submission of the application form and letter of support is April 5th, 2024. Applications should be addressed to the EWDA Student Chapter at ewdastudent@~@gmail.com. All student applicants will receive confirmation of successful receipt of their applications. Notification of awards will be communicated by April 26th, 2024.
1A student is defined as an individual currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate degree program (BSc, MSc, or PhD) or actively undertaking an internship or residency at a university or private hospital during the application/registration period.
